About Me
This blog was created by a daughter under duress from her mother. I am a Peace Corps Education Volunteer living and serving in northern Namibia from August 2017 through November 2019, and Mom wants every detail and every picture. So, if your name is not Nicki Bryant and you don't feel a motherly affection towards me, this blog might not be of interest to you... you have been forewarned.
P.S. Now that more people have actually started reading this, I feel the need to clarify that almost everything I say is a joke. This is not necessarily a "serious" blog, so if you are looking for reliable information about Namibia/serving in the Peace Corps, I can provide recommendations of my friends who are taking their writing seriously.

About Namibia
Namibia is situated in southwest Africa, bordered by Botswana, Angola, and South Africa. It was a German colony until 1915, when South Africa took control until Namibia's independence in 1990. Slightly more than half the size of Alaska, Namibia is the second least densely populated country in the world but (*shameless plug*) has been called the "dream" safari destination so hit me up if you want to visit!!
About Peace Corps
The Peace Corps is a program run by the United States government that works to promote world peace and friendship through the service of American volunteers abroad. Since its founding in 1961, over 225,000 volunteers have served in 141 countries around the globe. The three goals of the Peace Corps are:
1. To help the peoples of interested countries in meeting their needs for trained men and women
2. To help promote a better understanding of the American people on the part of the peoples served
3. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of the American people
The Peace Corps Mission describes it best as a, "nontraditional government agency that reflects the most enduring values and ideals of the American people: generosity, civic pride, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to service."
